Barbados Blackbelly Sheep Association Int'l - (BBSAI) Sheep Registry
BBSAI's registry is maintained by the association where anyone can register their American Blackbelly even if the sire or dam is not registered or known already. However, the Barbados Blackbelly registry is a "Closed" registry.
These are the basics, but go to their website for a complete set of instructions:
1) Print out a BBSAI Sheep registry form and set of instruction. Review the form and complete the application for all of your sheep being registered.
2) Look at your sheep and decide if it/they meet the standards of the breed as outlined by BBSAI.
American Blackbelly Standard or Barbados Blackbelly Standard.
3) Take a bunch of digital pictures clearly showing your animal. You love them right? This should be the easy part.
You can even use a disposable these days for digital pics.
The picture should include the head/face, tail, and body so that the markings can be easily seen (No fuzzy pictures). The predominant animal in the picture should be the one being registered - it can't be in the corner of the picture or hiding behind something;
show it off !
NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SHEEP TO REGISTER
- CAN YOU GUESS WHY ??......................................... (white & docked)
Now you have a choice, either print up the pictures or E-mail the photo(s) to secretary@blackbellysheep.org. (The later saves CA$H if you're on a budget)
ALL PHOTOS BECOME BBSAI's PROPERTY AND MAY BE USED
IN BBSAI PUBLICATIONS WITHOUT ATTRIBUTION.
If you decide to get the pictures printed, a really easy method of getting these pictures is to do it all on-line at places like Snapfish, which is Walgreen's film developing outfit (Most states have a Walgreen's).
You can download the file on-line and then have the pictures sent to you by mail, else, you can go pick them up the same day for a couple extra bucks. My preference is to get 4" x 6" pictures in duplicate with a white border -- they just look better and I can keep one of them for my files with a copy of the application. If one of my sheep fail to meet the standard then I'll have a record as to why and what I sent them so that I can learn and avoid the mistake in the future.
4) Send everything, and your fee, to the address on the application.
-- Good Luck!
Registration IS:
--- Very simple
